Elise Vitarelli- Owner/ Trainer

Elise has had a lifelong passion for helping both

dogs and people. She began volunteering with

Adopt a Pet and fostering dogs with her family

at the age of 10. As a young teen, she

discovered her love for dog training while

working towards getting her family pet certified

as a therapy dog. Together, they volunteered at

schools and nursing homes, continuing to train

in rally and scentwork.

As Elise grew more involved in dog training,

she was offered a position as an assistant,

where she worked with and raised personal

protection dogs and assisted with basic obedience

and behavior modification in board and train

programs.

In 2020, Elise opened Redefined K9,

where she has had the pleasure of pioneering

a day training program, raising service dogs for veterans, and welcoming countless dogs into her home for board and train programs. Elise has worked with several families to address severe behavioral concerns in dogs. Her approach emphasizes the education and support of the owner and typically results in long-lasting relationships with clients. She is passionate about communicating with each dog and client in a way that builds confidence and clarity.

Elise's commitment to the community and her profession is evident in her volunteer work. She donated time to raise and train service dogs for veterans, certify a facility therapy dog in the Fenton school system, and also worked with the Genesee County Sheriff's Office therapy dog. She has also rehabbed and rehomed several dogs coming from unfortunate circumstances.

Elise is currently a field representative trainer for Paws with a Cause, where she works with autism service dogs, hearing dogs, as well as seizure response dogs. She is a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and serves on their Therapy Dog Committee. She is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator and has attended numerous seminars, participated in dog sports, and is always seeking to expand her knowledge in the field of dog training.
